Sugaring Off: 18th Century Style @ Senate House State Historic Site

Please join us for our first event of the season-Sugaring Off: 18th Century Style. On April 8th, 2017, 11:00-3:00 there will be demonstrations of boiling maple sap down to maple syrup, hearthside cooking, making jackwax candy, whittling spiles, hewing a log into a trough, and making wooden buckets. Music by Mark Rust, who plays a variety of instruments including banjo, guitar and the spoons. A free event that the whole family will enjoy!

Opening Day! @ Senate House State Historic Site

The site opens for the 2017 season. Guided tours by costumed interpreters.

Prices: $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, 12 and under are free.

Preparing for a New Year @ Senate House State Historic Site
May 13 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Please join us while we plant our 18th century inspired vegetable and herb garden!  There will be demonstrations of sheep sheering, spinning and beekeeping. Children can enjoy an 18th century style magic show with “Levram: the Colonial Conjurer,” as well as learn how to make kites and play with 18th century toys and games.
